Welcome to clairewalkerart.com. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of this website and any purchase you make from it. By browsing this site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Please read them before ordering.

1. Who We Are

This website is owned and operated by Claire Walker, trading as Claire Walker Art, a sole trader based in England, United Kingdom.

2. Our Products

We sell:

• Original paintings — one-of-a-kind pieces, each unique
• Limited edition prints — reproductions capped at a stated edition size, hand-signed with a certificate of authenticity
• Commissions — bespoke original paintings created to a customer's brief

Every effort is made to describe and photograph each piece accurately. Due to the nature of photography and screen display, colours may vary very slightly between what you see online and the artwork in person — see our Refund & Returns Policy for more on this.

3. Prices & Payment

All prices are listed in GBP and include no VAT, as Claire Walker Art is not VAT registered. Prices are correct at the time of listing but may change without notice; the price at checkout is the price you pay. Payment is taken in full at the time of ordering via our checkout provider (Shopify), except for commissions, which are covered separately below.

4. Orders

Placing an order through this site is an offer to buy, which we may accept or decline. An order is confirmed once you receive an order confirmation email. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order — for example, if a piece was listed in error, is no longer available, or if we're unable to verify payment.

Limited edition prints are sold in the stated edition size. Once an edition sells out, it will be marked as sold out and will not be reproduced again.

5. Commissions

Commissions are bespoke, made-to-order original paintings. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place in the queue and reflects the time and materials involved from the outset. The commission process, scope, and any milestone check-ins will be agreed directly with Claire before work begins. Because each commission is created to your specification, standard cancellation rights do not apply once work is underway — see our Refund & Returns Policy for full detail.

6. Shipping & Delivery

Artwork is carefully packaged to minimise the risk of damage in transit. Delivery timescales will be confirmed at checkout or by email, and may vary depending on whether a piece is an original, an in-stock print, or made to order. Risk in the artwork passes to you once it's delivered to the address given at checkout — please check your address carefully before ordering.

7. Refunds & Returns

Original paintings, limited edition prints, open edition prints, and commission deposits are final sale, with the exception of items that arrive damaged or faulty. Full detail on this — including how to report a damaged or faulty item — is set out in our Refund & Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All artwork, photography, product images, text, and branding on this site are the copyright of Claire Walker unless otherwise stated. Purchasing an original or a print does not transfer copyright in the underlying artwork to you — you're buying the physical piece, not the right to reproduce it. You may not copy, reproduce, resell, or use any image or content from this site commercially without prior written permission.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree to use this website for lawful purposes only. You may not attempt to interfere with the site's operation, misuse its content, or use it in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its function.

10. Liability

While reasonable care is taken to ensure the accuracy of the information on this site, Claire Walker Art accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on that information, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

11. Links to Other Websites

This site may link to third-party websites, including social media platforms. Claire Walker Art is not responsible for the content or practices of any external sites linked from here.

12. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the business, our products, or the law. The version published on this site at the time of your order is the one that applies to that order.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of this site or a purchase made through it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
